Currently, we are looking to hire a Senior Financial Analyst to take on much of the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) responsibilities for the team while leveraging the CPM system to run more effectively and efficiently for the organization.

About the Senior Financial Analyst Position
As a Financial Analyst at Study.com, you will contribute to the success of the organization by being a hands-on contributor who creates actionable insights through financial and operational analysis and reporting. The position reports to the VP of Finance and works closely with other business leaders throughout the organization. Responsibilities:
- Continuous development and maintenance of internal financial planning system(s). Consistently identify ways to leverage the Prophix CPM system utilizing all relevant capabilities of the software to enhance/optimize the FP&A process.
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
- Track expenses for the entire company, while working closely with the accounting team to ensure accuracy of entries
- Partner with business units to analyze and identify key drivers of risks and opportunities to help maintain an accurate read on quarterly forecast
- Prepare monthly / quarterly budget vs. actual variance analysis for department leaders and executive staff
- Monitor key trends, headcount, capital expenditures and operating expenses
- Reviewing and analyzing financial statements and reports.
- Tracking KPIs and preparing financial reports.
- Identify and implement changes to continually improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy of planning & analysis activities.
- Assist on ad-hoc projects as needed
Background Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, IT, analytics, business, or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience in a Financial Analyst / FP&A role. Experience working at a startup or smaller team/company.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with CPM systems such as Hyperion, Prophix, Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Planful, etc. (Prophix is preferred). Experience with system configuration, modeling within the system, implementation/integration, etc. is highly desirable. (the more “in the weeds” of the system itself, the better!)
- Experience with other financial tools such as Quickbooks Online is a plus
- Strong experience in budgeting, annual/quarterly forecasting, variance analysis, and preparing financial statements and reports.
- Proficiency with the entire MS Office Suite with emphasis on Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities, with a commitment to consistent excellence in developing and executing analyses while managing multiple projects and priorities successfully
- B2C SaaS industry knowledge/experience a plus
Please Note: This position is located in our office in Mountain View, CA. Study.com has implemented a hybrid model that will include 3 days in-office and 2 days of remote work.
